Some University of Illinois employees work for the University after retirement. The following are key factors for units and retirees to keep in mind when a retiree plans to return as an Extra Help employee:
- Extra Help Services must review all retiree rehires before the individual returns to work.
- An employee must be off work for at least 60 days after retirement before returning.
- Retirees are responsible for observing any earnings limitations from the State Universities Retirement System.
- To be rehired, retirees are required to have an online application on file. If a retiree has not completed or updated an online application within the last two years, the retiree can access the online application system by clicking here.
